The trade most free online tools ask you to make is invisible. You drop a file into a web page, it comes back converted, and the part you do not see is that your document travelled to a server, sat on a disk you do not control, and may still be there. For a holiday snapshot that is a fine trade. For a signed contract, a passport scan, a bank statement, or a medical record, it is not a trade most people would make knowingly.

Browsers became capable enough to make that trade unnecessary. Modern browser APIs can read files, decode and re-encode images, manipulate PDF structure, hash data with audited cryptographic primitives, and even run video transcoding compiled to WebAssembly — all locally, at speeds that are usually faster than uploading would have been. NextWebHub is built entirely on that capability.

The practical consequences go beyond privacy. There is no upload queue, so results are immediate. There is no server cost per file, so there is no reason to impose a file size cap or a daily limit or a watermark that a subscription removes. And because nothing is transmitted, the tools keep working on a slow connection — or, once the pages are cached, on no connection at all.
